Doing Good, Honest and Respectable Work

The poet, naturalist and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "When I go into the garden with a spade, and dig a bed, I feel such an exhilaration and health that I discover that I have been defrauding myself all this time in letting others do for me what I should have done with my own hands".

Here we are, the friends of the Day Center garden,  doing good, honest and respectable work.

  1. When I go into the garden and plant a seed and watch it grow and then eat the produce, I feel my connection with the Earth and at one with all Earthly beings. We are the voice of the Earth. I'm so glad to be sharing this in the work of Healthy Waltham.

  2. This Friday, April 20th from 1:30-4:00, at the Community Day Center garden we will celebrate Earth Week by planting more vegetables and edible flowers. All are welcome to help and be "connected to the Earth" as stated by Magic Berry Garden.
